Exciting opportunity for the Midlands, reporting to the Managing Director, the Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Manager will be responsible for overseeing the departments of Quality, H&S, and Regulatory Affairs. You will build on our existing ISO accreditation and H&S compliance standards. The role requires a candidate that is equally confident in interacting with the shop floor as with the Management Team and outside regulatory bodies (such as NSAI,ISO). This is a broad and varied role and provides an exciting opportunity for the right person to play a key part in the progression of the business. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities, ensuring systems are in place to deliver products Right First Time. Drive continuous improvement across all areas of the business and promote and develop health and safety initiatives. Ensure that adequate and up to date policies and procedures are in place for product excellence and a safe working environment through our QMS and HSMS. Conduct training sessions and toolbox talks where appropriate and ensure that all necessary training for statutory & other H&S-related matters are up-to-date. Carry out Risk Assessments and follow through to completion. Liaise with all staff, including H&S Reps, and coordinate monthly safety meetings. Investigate and follow through on all accidents, incidents and near misses. Work with external contractors and consultants to ensure H&S compliance. Conducting internal audits and inspections. Actively engage with the various regulatory requirements of our industry and those of our customers. Manage and strengthen information and documentation to ensure compliance risk management. Provide support and guidance on product and process reviews on new, existing and change control of our products from a regulatory perspective. Participate in New Product Development teams as the RA representative. Competencies and Skills required: Experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong research and analytical skills and a willingness to become expert on the governing standards, as well as high levels of accuracy and attention to detail are key to this role. People management experience desirable. Excellent time management and organisational skills and able to work to deadlines. Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, MRP System. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with good networking and interpersonal relationship-building qualities. Reliable, hardworking and very flexible, team player; fast learner. Be flexible and dynamic with and ability to meet multiple challenges in an evolving fast-paced work environment. Third level relevant qualification. For Example, recognised qualification in OHAS/EHS, IOSH / NEBOSH,Quality etc. This is a permanent opportunity based in Athlone.
