I am proud to be presenting this sensational opportunity to an experienced Molecular Biologist on behalf of my client, a biopharmaceutical testing organisation. The company are an exciting and innovative company and require a Molecular Biologist to support Gene Therapy products. The role of the Molecular Biologist within the Biopharm / Cell lab team will be one of a subject matter expert to support the development of this technology on site. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Molecular Biologist you will perform general molecular biology based tasks including assay design, DNA / RNA extraction, PCR and fluorescence microscopy. You will follow and write SOPs, record and interpret results and work within the company's quality systems and policies. Your duties as the Molecular Biologist will be varied and predominantly laboratory based, however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows: Perform laboratory aspects of new product and method development. Perform supervised laboratory validation of new products and methods. Thoroughly document laboratory work to an extent that will allow work to be analysed and replicated. Deliver instrument or method training to members of the teams as required. Report all activities to the Team Lead in a timely and comprehensive manner. Routinely acts as the project leader on multiple projects, interacts with clients. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Molecular Biologist, I am looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: Relevant PhD and post doctoral experience. In addition, you will have previous experience working within a molecular diagnostics or molecular microbiology facility. Previous experience of qPCR, RNA analysis, DNA analysis experience, Cell culture and cell assay experience, Cloning, sequencing, and transfection skills would be desirable. GMP experience would be an advantage (ICH guidelines, USP/EP requirements and EMA/FDA regulations. Proficiency on technical operating systems. Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proven ability in technical writing skills. Time management and project management skills.
