Description

Role: Manager - Appeals & Complaints Service. Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. Contract: Until 31st December 2020. Our client has been engaged to oversee the set-up of a new statutory scheme, due to launch in 4 months. As part of the scheme, an Appeals and Complaints Service team is being assembled. This is the first and most senior role in a team of 6 to be recruited and will manage the service. We are looking to speak with candidates who are exceptional communicators, strong problem-solvers and above all demonstrate accountability for leading, directing, monitoring and evaluating the services provided by staff members within their team and the performance of their department. Prior experience in a Public Service role would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. Key responsibilities will include: Delivering an appeals system which is in compliance with the Appeals Act. The design and delivery of the highest standard of quality customer service to appellants/customers. Leadership and the development of an expert team, comprising a range of skills, capable of delivering an appeals service, which is seen to be independent, fair, efficient and readily accessible. Responsibilities will also include a range of duties linked to appeals and complaints, stakeholder and people management, as well as any other tasks which may be assigned from time to time by line manager as appropriate to the role and grade. Key Requirements for consideration: At least 3-5 years’ experience in a busy customer focused environment at management level. Third level qualification to Level 8 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications, or equivalent. Ideally would have additional, relevant professional qualification (e.g. in business, management, service development / delivery, process improvement, project management. Relevant operational delivery management experience in a substantial, professional, high performance business environment. A proven customer service ethos with strong relationship building skills across business teams and external stakeholders. Strong experience of developing high performing teams.
