R&D Engineer. The Role: • The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in an exciting expansion phase for the company. • The candidate will be a core member of the research team in the fields of injection moulding and plastics processing (polymer rheology, melt flow and temperature control) and FEA prediction models. • This position requires the successful candidate to have the ability to carry out investigative activities, seeking to improve the development of new moulding related technologies. • The successful candidate will work with research partners on cutting edge technology in state of the art facilities with the most up to date equipment. Key Responsibilities: • Continually identify and assess opportunities for product, technology & process development. • Contribute to the project team to deliver key objectives, meeting performance, time and cost targets. • Leverage and liaise with external vendors / resources to achieve project goals. • Write procedures, protocols, specifications and reports. Skills, Experience and qualifications required: • Strong design and technical ability based on a broad and deep knowledge of fundamental engineering principles. • Knowledge and experience of Injection Moulding equipment and processes. • Strong work ethic, creative problem solving, capable of working on own initiative. • Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills essential. • Good working knowledge and experience with MS Office. • Honours degree in Polymer, Mechanical or related Engineering/Science equivalent. • Project Management and design (Solidworks) experience desired.
