Description

A Production Planning Manager is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Athlone based client. They will have responsibility for managing a team of production planning personnel, including organizing and prioritizing Athlone Production Planning goals and objectives in line with business strategy. THE ROLE: * Responsible for ensuring the manufacturing build plans support high levels of customer service while maintaining minimum levels of inventory. * Provides leadership, direction and management of a core team, to support execution of the Planning & Inventory Control strategy related to Production Planning, and Raw Material Inventory Control. * Lead and develop the Supply Planning team by providing clear direction, setting agreed performance expectations and results, creating a positive team environment ensuring engagement and ongoing coaching and development of team members. * Drive the monthly Commit Review process as part of Monthly Process and lead the monthly plan process. * Understand capacity in each Business Unit and anticipate capacity constraints/overages. * Responsible for managing finished goods, raw materials and WIP inventory levels. * Co-ordinate material shortages process to ensure no impact to production plan. * Implements and maintains material and production control systems, policies, processes and procedures ensuring a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. * Leads, monitors, assesses and communicates risks on Planning & Inventory Control key projects, providing regular updates to Senior Management. * Work closely with other departments in implementing process improvements to achieve plant goals of production output, efficiencies, unit cost and quality. * Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operation of P&IC activities, ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are met. * Is the first point of contact for daily supply issues/escalations. REQUIREMENTS: * Degree in Business, Materials Planning, Supply Chain, or related field. * Professional certification (APICS. * Experience of 2 to 3 years supervisory/people management experience in a high volume busy environment or in a Project Lead structure is an advantage. * Excellent knowledge of MRP systems, Oracle and Advanced Planning Systems. * Six Sigma/Lean Exposure and knowledge. * Experience in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing environment. * Excellent Excel, PowerPoint , Email and other Office applications skills.
